The carbon footprint of wind power
According to a recent report by Etha Wind, the positive effect of wind power, which is achieved in the form of emission reductions, is 50 times greater than its negative effects on the climate. The forest area needed by wind power is not large, when calculated, its area would be an estimated 0.15% of Finland's forest area. The amount of wind power production is increasing steadily and more than a third will be covered by wind power by 2026 at the latest. Energieteollisuus ry and Suomen Tuulivoimayhdistys joined forces, the report opens up the possibility of building wind power in Eastern Finland
Wind turbines affect the operation of research and that is why more wind power is located in the western parts of Finland than in eastern Finland. Regional emphasis causes challenges for the electricity grid and increases inequality between municipalities. The surveyor's report presents ways to coordinate wind power and the activities of the Defense Forces in Eastern Finland. Mapping additional measures is still necessary so that the great investment potential is not lost. Read more about the liquidator's report on the website of the Finnish Wind Power Association here.
