Åland's seabed has been mapped for wind turbines
Åland's northern sea areas are being studied more closely than ever in order to find out where wind turbines could be built. In Åland's marine regional planning, the area is limited to the territorial water boundary of the province. OX2 and Ilmatar have both done floor mapping and environmental studies in the area, for the actual analysis of environmental impacts. Based on the analysis of the seabed, plans can be drawn up in the future for power plant establishment solutions and locations.
