OX2 and Tuulikolmio sign a cooperation agreement for the development of new wind power projects
Europe's leading onshore wind power provider, the Nordic OX2, and the Finnish wind power developer Tuulikolmio have signed a cooperation agreement for the development of new wind power projects in Finland. The agreement includes a significant number of wind power projects. The goal is to implement projects during this decade.
The cooperation agreement now signed includes projects launched by Tuulikolmio in Central Finland, Lapland and Northern Ostrobothnia, among others. The permitting processes for the first projects will be launched this autumn. The wind triangle is responsible for leasing and licensing land for cooperation projects. OX2 is responsible for the technical design, implementation, construction and related financing of collaborative projects.
“Through the collaboration, we will have more resources, projects and geographical diversification into our existing portfolio. Wind Triangle is an experienced and professional player, so we expect good results from our cooperation. Wind power plays a key role in the energy transition and the electrification of society, to which we want to respond by growing our longer-term project portfolio, ”says OX2's Director of Project Development in Finland. Veli-Pekka Alkula.
“The wind power industry is undergoing a major transformation. Projects are now being built on market terms and new project areas are also being developed inland and in northern Finland, ”Tuulikolmio's Chief Operating Officer Jussi Havia says and continues:
“Working with OX2 allows us the resources to manage the entire development cycle of a wind farm project, right down to construction and operation. OX2 is one of Europe's largest players in the field and has the best expertise in the field. The launch of a large-scale collaboration between OX2 and Tuulikolmio is a great recognition of our work so far. ”
Tuulikolmio started operations in Finland in 2011 and the company has increased its project portfolio to 1.25 gigawatts in ten years. The owners of the wind triangle include the Portuguese investment company and the Portuguese Infraventus Group, which has developed renewable energy projects since 1988. In its project development, the wind triangle uses an extensive domestic network in processes related to permitting procedures.
